The Countdown
Coming back to reality is definitely not easy. Especially to my stress level and food intake.
I had class with Dr. Franklin yesterday (Tuesday), and rushed off to the Inzai City International Friendship Association organized lunch for the graduating students. It is a city council affair which my classmates and I were invovled in during our years here in this community. Since I helped out and conduct English lessons in the nearby vacinity, most of those present were related to my classes.
After that, I came back to campus for a while to sort somethings out at the office. Then, I took the evening off having some Bunny time at IKEA. Well, I had to go get the gift from the graduating students for the school. I was welcomed by the familiar sights, smells, and sounds of IKEA… very much like the one back home! I even had my share of Swedish meatballs. (Laughs!) It is the only place in Japan where I can order a kids meal with no questions asked. Due to the currency rate, the stuff there were dirt cheap! I was tempted to buy almost everything I like, but, due to the upcoming events of the next month… I refrained and just got what I need: the gift to the school, the gifts for my fellow graduating classmates, ok… and a lamp! (couldn’t resist!)
I was lugging the stuff on the trains and back to Chiba New Town station, got on the bus (as it was impossible to cycle with the load that I was carrying). While on the bus waiting for its departure, I checked my phone and found out that the boys wanted to go for dinner. So, I jumped off the bus and walked to Gusto. There, meeting Sunil and Matthew, we had a great dinner catching up, teasing each other… yeah, a weekend not seeing each other is too much. What would happen when I leave?
Today, I will have another end-of-semester/pre-graduation/ore-farewell brunch at Yamato-sensei’s place. The menu: Okonomiyaki. (I had REAL Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki during the weekend… do I really want to have this? I also had Okonomiyaki at Miss Mori’s place last week too…) Hmm, I think I should go prepare now. I might do a little grocery shopping before haeding off for my last day of work at the library. Oh yes, I might need to revise Dr. Franklin’s paper.
