Bye Bye Library
Today is my last day working at the library. Wow! It has been a year and a semester working there. Someone once told me that it is very difficult to get a job in the campus library and only very few will be chosen. However, I guess for my case it was by sheer luck. I wanted an extra job and a job on campus will be great as I won’t have to travel. Why? Well, funny to mention it… it was because I wanted to save money to visit my ex-boyfriend, J, then. But that never happened. We broke up soon after that. I managed to continue working at the library and the money used was for visiting loved ones. I was lucky enough to be able to pay for my vacations at the end of every semester after that.
My job description? Well, mostly house-keeping and returning the books to the racks. I also moved almost every book in the library to make space for more books. Then, there is always the paper work and book-keeping, cataloguing new books and preparing them for the racks in wrapping etc. I think I was hired because of my bi-lingual ablitiy. I helped make a lot of signs and notices for the library. I even help edit the English Newsletter. What I enjoyed most was being able to offer assistence to English speakers to our library, especially to the ACTS-es Freshmen and visiting guests.
I did my usual Wednesday duty today, and did the closing. Abe-san, 大変お世話になりました!お疲れ様でした!
